Joey is 7 yrs. old and Autistic, he is also Bi Polar/mania and is now showing marked signs of "Acute Stress Distorder" after being restrained in his school by an untrained counselor protecting his candy shack aka his office. The child wanted candy, the employee held him against his will in a chair for an unspecified amount of time and then reportedly threw him to the floor.Joey Needs Justice. Now Joey has had such a bad reliving of the restraint his psych is so poor he must be in patient and is away from the home, possibly for quite some time. JOEY NEEDS JUSTICE.........The School district has hired an ex Administrative Law Judge to fight our Advocate who works for Starbucks 'and a smile'! The actions of this school district against Joey have caused him to be TAKEN FROM THE HOME DUE TO ACUTE STRESS DISORDER LEADING TO MULTIPLE Psychotic breakdowns. Hopefully, Joey will come out of this last one - As reported by the County Mental Health Joey relives the restraint in these episodes and acts as if he's being restrained when he's not, then yells in fear and frenzy, thinking even his closest family members are even out to harm him. OUR CHILDREN AND EATING OURSELVES!!!

One of the things that I have learned from the AUTISM experience is that literally what you eat and what you feed your kids makes a huge difference. In a persons mood, behavior and over all health. Starting with Overweight children we move to Neurological disorders, those being. PDD-NOS (in other words AUTISM), Aspergers, Mental retardation, OCD, Anxiety, Depression etc.

Studies Link childhood obesity to sleep problems, Lower quality of life (can’t do what normal kids their age do) Complications during surgery. Mood swings more health problems in the future then peers their own age. Not to mention low self steam. They are more likely to be picked in the school then other children.

What the CDC saying about our overweight children:
Since the 1980s, the number of overweight children (ages 6–19) has more than tripled in the United States. Today, 18 percent of elementary school children are overweight. Two major factors are contributing to this rise in overweight children:
• On average, children in the United States spend almost six hours a day with electronic media: TV, computer, and video games.
• Only 29 percent of children in the United States attend physical education classes daily; down from 42 percent in 1991.
In an effort to address these troubling statistics, CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) promotes the use of a Coordinated School Health Program Model (CSHP) to aid schools and communities in preventing and reducing chronic diseases in school children. CSHP includes eight interactive components that enable schools and communities to create their own coordinated school health programs

Going on to Neurological disorders: We are dealing with every 20 min. a child is diagnosed with PDD (Autism) in our country. The mental health services have increased significantly since 2008. Now 1 in 110 is being diagnosed with some form of Autism.
Diagnosis of ADHD increased an average of 3% per year from 1997 to 2006. [Read article ]
Boys (9.5%) are more likely than girls (5.9%) to have been diagnosed with ADHD. [Read article ]

There is one thing that I have learned in my way to healing my kids with Autism/Aspergers/anxiety that is that whatever they put in their mouth is important. Dr. Jean Lake described to me the way the brain works on this matter.
She said.” Whenever you put in your mouth a piece of candy, food or any food for that matter, the first reaction is in the neurons inside your brain then moving into your stomach then to making the digestion, Depending on how much and what you put in your mouth that is the reaction you will have for a few hours or the reaction your body will have in a few days weeks or months”.
This really stuck into my mind and I tell people about this all the time I talk about autism.

I know we have the food pyramid that our FDA dept. has provided us with , But every individual is different and that pyramid isn’t one size fits all. Just like our vaccines aren’t one size fits all but then that is another subject. Because of the miracle of blood testing now days we can find out what is best for our kids and for us. This test is called an IGG food sensitivity test not to be confused with the IGA food allergy test.

Now it is obvious that whatever is artificial color or flavor .too much of it is not healthy.
Some of you might say “I eat chicken therefore I’m healthier” Think again.
Because the poultry industry sees these birds as meat- and egg-producing machines, the animals are not treated as the sentient individuals they are.
Almost all of the birds we raise for meat have been bred selectively for unnaturally rapid growth, which is further exacerbated by routine antibiotic-use for growth-promotion.
Growing so large so quickly causes immense animal welfare problems, including increased rates of leg, heart and lung disorders. And virtually all of the egg-laying hens in our national flock are confined in cages too small for them even to spread their wings.
We do not need to be a veterinarian to help farm animals.
Each one of us can make a difference every time we sit down to eat.

Been away for just a little bit . Had so many things going on for a while , M y life is always full of many many things to do . This year has been full of many many things . This year is almost over and all I can say is where did the time go?. I feel 100% blessed and thankful to the Lord since my kids and myself got to travel to mexico my oldest child celebrated her 15th birthday . We are all healthy my children are no longer in the CFGF diet . My children are now fuctioning great and receiving the services they need . The Lord is wonderful and both my husband and I have received many blessings this year 2010.

. April is Autism awareness month in the USA. According to the CDC (Center for desease control)the USA is now reporting 1out of 100 children are being diagnosed with some form of AUITISM.

Two new government studies indicate about 1 in 100 American children have autism disorders — higher than a previous U.S. estimate of 1 in 150.
Greater awareness, broader definitions and spotting autism in younger children may explain some of the increase, federal health officials said.
“The concern here is that buried in these numbers is a true increase,” said Dr. Thomas Insel, director of the National Institute of Mental Health. “We’re going to have to think very hard about what we’re going to do for the 1 in 100.”
Figuring out how many children have autism is extremely difficult because diagnosis is based on a child’s behaviour, said Dr. Susan E. Levy of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics subcommittee on autism.

“With diabetes you can get a blood test,” said Levy. “As of yet, there’s no consistent biologic marker we can use to make the diagnosis of autism.”
The new estimate would mean about 673,000 American children have autism. Previous estimates put the number at about 560,000
One of the studies stems from the 2007 National Survey of Children’s Health. The results were released Monday, and published in October’s Pediatrics.
In that study, based on telephone surveys, parents reported about 1 in 91 children, ages 3 to 17, had autism, including milder forms such as Asperger’s syndrome.
The other government estimate has not been formally released yet. But because of the new published findings, officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decided to announce Friday during an embargoed press briefing that their preliminary findings also show about 1 in 100 children have the disorders.
The CDC uses an in-depth method for its estimate, said CDC researcher Catherine Rice. An agency network reviews the education and health records of 8-year-old children in selected cities and determines whether the children meet the diagnosis. Autism experts generally consider this method more rigorous than a telephone survey.

President Barack Obama has made autism a priority for research, Insel said. Federal stimulus money has been earmarked for autism, and a 2006 law pumped millions of dollars of new federal money into autism research, screening and treatment.
The published findings, which include state-level data, will help the government plan new services, said Michael Kogan, a researcher with the federal Health Resources and Services Administration, who led the new study, which lists authors from several government agencies, including CDC.
The findings are based on the results of a national telephone survey of more than 78,000 parents of children ages 3 to 17. The survey dealt with many health issues and included two questions on autism.
Parents were asked whether they had ever been told by a doctor or other health care provider that their child had autism, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder or some other autism spectrum disorder.
If the parent said yes, they were asked if their child currently has autism or an autism spectrum disorder. “Yes” to both questions was counted as a child with an autism disorder.
The survey questions were flawed, said autism researcher Irva Hertz-Picciotto of the University of California, Davis. A broad definition, read to some parents who asked for clarification, didn’t include “repetitive behaviours,” Hertz-Picciotto said. And parents weren’t asked about a professional diagnosis in the second question.
Children with autism can have trouble communicating and interacting socially. They may have poor eye contact and engage in repetitive behaviour such as rocking or hand-flapping.
“The wording and definition invited much broader interpretation,” Hertz-Picciotto said, and researchers didn’t check what parents said against medical records.
In another finding, nearly 40 per cent of the children ever diagnosed with autism disorders didn’t currently have autism, the parents reported. That rate is much higher than ever found by autism recovery researchers. Outside experts said they doubt it reflects a true rate of recoveries. Autism could have been suspected and later ruled out for some of the children, the authors wrote.
One of the new study’s authors was supported in part by a grant from the advocacy group Autism Speaks. The others work for federal agencies.
“Autism is a highly prevalent disorder,” said Geraldine Dawson, chief science officer of Autism Speaks. “We’re looking at a major public health challenge.”

PICA Disorder

PICA disorder

My child Alanis is dealing with PICA Disorder. Many children that have sensory related issues /Autism deal with this disorder as well. Some are more severe then others. Alanis is considered to e in the early intervention part of PICA . I wanted to write about this because I have been asking for your prayers for my child and well I wanted to bring awareness of PICA . We received this diagnosis last year for alanis but she was inthe very low end of the PICA spectrum , At this time she is considered to be in the more severre end because of the things she has now eatena nd she needs medical intervention. As you know my child also has an anxiety disorder that doesn't help the PICA but with the many prayers and faith in the Lord and last but not least the help of the professionals she will make it .

A behaviorist specialist in PICA will be here in the home and in school so I appreciate evrything and everyone who is now going to help her.

What is PICA :

Many young kids put nonfood items in their mouths at one time or another. They're naturally curious about their environment and might, for instance, eat some dirt out of the sandbox.
Kids with pica, however, go beyond this innocent exploration of their surroundings. As many as 25% to 30% of kids (and 20% of those seen in mental health clinics)

have the eating disorder pica, which is characterized by persistent and compulsive cravings (lasting 1 month or longer) to eat nonfood items.
About PicaThe word pica comes from the Latin word for magpie,

a bird known for its large and indiscriminate appetite.

Pica is most common in people with developmental disabilities, including autism and mental retardation, and in children between the ages of 2 and 3. Although kids younger than 18 to 24 months can try to eat nonfood items, it isn't necessarily considered abnormal at that age.
Pica is also a behavior that may surface in children who've had a brain injury affecting their development. It can also be a problem for some pregnant women,

as well as people with epilepsy.

People with pica frequently crave and consume nonfood items such as:
•dirt•clay•paint chips•plaster•chalk•cornstarch•laundry starch•baking soda•coffee grounds•cigarette ashes•burnt match heads•cigarette butts•feces•ice•glue•hair•buttons•paper•sand•toothpaste•soapAlthough consumption of some items may be harmless, pica is considered to be a serious eating disorder that can sometimes result in serious health problems such as lead poisoning and iron-deficiency anemia.

Quiero tomar este momento de escritura pues e querido escribir pero pues la verdad siempre estoy bastante ocupada con mis hijos y mi esposo y mis cosas de vida diaria.Queria primeramente dar las Gracias Al Senor por la oportunidad que nos a dado a mi esposo y a mi a perteneces en la presencia de el en los momentos mas dificiles de nuestra vida juntos . Le doy la gracias a nuestro Dios por mi esposo David quien realmente a sido un esposo esepcional por casi 11 anos de matrimonio . No hay ninguna queja para mi familia ni para mi suegra ni mi suegro . Le doy gracias Al Senor por darnos fuerzas a seguir adelante juntos hasi como el nos a mandado, Luchamos juntos hasi como dise la cancion como soldados y aca esta la prueva de que NUESTRO CREADOR ESCUCHA las oraciones que nosotros hacemos sin descansar para salvacion de nuestros seres amados . CDC quietly revises autism rates to 1% of US children

Recently the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reportedly revised the rates of autism for the United States and the numbers are alarming. In 2007, the reported numbers were 1 in 150. Today, those numbers have skyrocketed to 1 in 100, and some say the numbers are closer to 1 in 89. According to David Kirby, the data is due to be released any day now.

Corroboration of this number has been tough to find, with much circular logic, pointing to blog posts who point back to his blog. According to Lee Grossman, CEO for Autism Society of America, and quoted by Kirby, that number is correct.

When I tried to verify the numbers, the CDC still lists the 2007 statistics of 1 in 150 in their official report, the new report has not been released) but the numbers on the webpage have been modified to reflect "1 in 100 to 1 in 300 with an average of 1 in 150" for prevalence in autism. The last modification that was made to the page was September 25, 2009. When I checked the internet archives, for earlier cached versions of the page, it was odd that the data page was missing from the archive. But Google cache revealed the subtle refinement of the details. As of yesterday morning, the website was changed to reflect the new numbers. It is interesting that the modification occurred yesterday, Friday, the day traditionally known for burying news that the media doesn't publicize. I don't want to say there is a conspiracy, but why hide the data? Is the CDC trying to bury these numbers? Why isn't the media shouting this from the rooftops? Exactly how common does autism have to get in order to get the attention, research and funding for programs it needs?

According to the numbers David Kirby cites from a 2007 telephone interview of almost 82,000 children conducted by National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH), which is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services, your odds of being told you have a child with autism is a staggering 1 in 63. If that child is a boy, odds skyrocket to 1 in 38. That's 2.6% of all male children in the United States. Is this possible?

Further, the report goes on to state that parents told researchers that "60 per 10,000 children had autism at some point but not currently." My thought on this telephone survey is, were these children officially diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, or is this parents who are finding quirky children and giving them the self-diagnosis du-jour? Of course, even accounting for that trend, the numbers are still incredibly high.

How much worse does it have to get? If 1 in 38 boys was born blind or with no legs, would we do something then? If 1 in 63 children was diagnosed with cancer, would we be moving heaven and earth to find out what is causing the epidemic? Would we be studying every avenue, leaving no stone unturned, simply on the word of a few? Or would we use all of science at our disposal, creating studies without exclusions, leaving out our biases and using every available tool that we have?

We don't know what causes these children to have autism. It is probably a complicated set of factors. But at what point do we start researching as though we really want to figure it out? Whether vaccinations are part of the puzzle or not, who knows? Can thousands of parents be wrong? It is just good science to actually explore the possibility. That is, if scientists really want to conduct science. To date, no study with real controls for vaccinations has been done. Is it that hard?

Annette moreno really means so much to me since as a person when I started in the truth I needed to have strenth in many areas . Specially in the personal emocional area. When the Lord found David and me we had gone through a very difficult problem not between the both of us but together in our life. So I feel the Lord spoke to me via music and via Annette. This particular song I love because as human being we tend to have
"un corazon de piedra" In this song she descrives how we feel when we arent close to the Lord an we have difficulty being humble and bending to what the Lord wants us to do in our personal life or inour life period. I have been through many things in my life and I have had "Un corazon de piedra " at times. I feel bonding with the Lord has made me realize how wrong I was and how I ned to make the changes if I wanna live a happier life. Yes to be able to make a change we have to first recognize we arent perfect and we have made mistakes and we must want the change .I hope this osng can be a blessing in your life as it has been to me in mine.

Why to heaven ? because it is clear in the word of God that our place is in heaven;

We are constantly worried and anxious of whatever the other person is saying about us or doing to us . We are concerned about what is going on with our brother or sister in Christ concerned in areas of others life that really should not matter, Unless those people want you call on you or mention you in any way should you care what others have to say really.Or we confuse ourselves in matters that aren't important at all . Thinking issues are about us or people wanna hurt us somehow.

The human heart is like a garden , If we don't tend to our heart we suffer. The matters of the heart are many . The love of God the Love to our parents the love to our kids etc. If we don't take care of our garden it becomes weed infested , if we have started to bloom the flowers start to die , it gets dry and then dead and it becomes cold and hard.

Hosea 6 :1-

"Come, let us return to the LORD.

He has torn us to pieces

but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us,

that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the LORD;

Hosea one of the minor prophets . He married a woman who later became a prostitute. He was humble and faithful even though his wife was doing wrong.This is a man who pleaded for restoration and guidance from the Lord to his people when their heart's are far from Him .He begins by saying "Come, let us return to the LORD. and then he again invites by saying Let us acknowledge the LORD;. 2 key ways of calling for restoration. In a sense this means for us we don't need to be where we are . This is a teaching of first acknowledging and then acting out with a sincere need of his guidance.We don't have to be where we are , we don't have to struggle with our differences any more . Therefore is time to Come and return to the Lord . It is not about reading the bible 24 hours a day it is not about a religion it is not about hanging out at church everyday . It is about us having a better relationship with the Lord and in turn making the right changes in our life. Doug ht can become faith, despair can become purpose , defeat can become victory . Just come and keep your eyes on the Lord .

Sometimes what we are doing and refuse to stop doing keeps us from returning to the Lord . It is hard sometimes , I have been there and I have done that.

Israel's arrogance testifies against him, but despite all this

he does not return to the LORD his God or search for him.

Israel's behavior is unacceptable to God . This is us everyday sometimes and we are in bondage until we come to the conclusion that we are nothing if we don't have God in our heart. We gotta start to see things different , Perhaps if we opened our hearts more we can let the light of God shine in our hearts, without worrying about others and what their plan with you is . We need to start looking " UP TO HEAVEN ". So that we can change ourselves to what God wants us to be , Whatever you chose to do before you won't do no more , You will tell yourself , No more that isn't me and I refuse to do it anymore. But the first thing to change is to acknowledge and then comes repentance. When you see it for what it really is you can say with respect I'm wrong God I'm sorry for what I have done if I serve you and I'm your child you deserve better then what I have given you so far. I have made mistakes , I have treated wrong I'm undeserving of your Love God . But today I'm returning to you Lord .

Then you come to realize that you want what the Lord has planned for you . You are interested in finding out what it is that holds for your future. Under his hands. We no longer wanna go back to the past we no longer wanna be close to what we used to be . Lets not try to fix ourselves ,allow the spirit of the Lord to work in us .

It all is a blessing from the Lord . The good times the bad times and even the horrible times . There is always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow if you look back and decide to sincerely return to God. I pray that we all SNAP out of this ignorance and start fresh with Him . Lets stop the madness between brothers and sister and family members and lets do what is right . Lets always keep the eyes to heaven . Because that is where our citizenship belongs .

Una buena Conciencia

Este domingo pasado tuvimos el privilegio de escuchar a nuestro Hermano Coleto predicar y hablarnos encuanto a ser "NICE" claro que el ser nice se refiere a muchas cosas . Es claro que como Cristianos devemos de ser amables en todo tiempo no importando la sircumstancias. La verdad esque somos imperfectos y seria imposible el decir que somos amables todo el tiempo.

En lo personal yo e tenido dificultad con el ser amable . En especial con personas quienes no son tan nice o pretenden ser nice al principio y despues te das cuenta que realmente no estaban siendo sinceros . Predicaciones como las de nuestro hermano Coleto en el pasado Domingo son buenisimas para nuestra congreGAcion y en mi opinion personal todos en el planeta deveriamos de escuchar predicaciones como esas para que nos jalen las orejas deves en cuando . Para que nos digan "HELLO ARE YOU LISTENING!!!!" .

Es claro que nuestro Senor Jesucristo a sido el uico que si le preguntamos si ha echo siempre el bien ?,diria . Si e sido un Padre que los a amado con compasion y misericordia. Que diriamos nosotros si la misma pregunta fuera echa a nosostros?.

Mientras intentamos caminar como lo iso Jesucristo nos encontramos con obstaculos en nuestra vida diaria . De la misma forma que El lo iso con la diferencia que desgraciadamente nosostros vivimos a diario con imperfeccion. Es claro que el Apostol Pedro en su epistola que acabamos de leer nos hace saber las normas que tenemos que seguir hasta nuetro dia para poder vivir una vida mas fructifera y agradable alos ojos de nuestro Creador y Salvador.La palabra nos dise:

"No devuelvan mal por mal ni insulto por insulto" puesto que " bendigan, porque para esto fueron llamados, para heredar una bendición.". Es claro que nuestro comportamiento con los demas tiene un impacto grande en las bendiciones que el Senor nos a prometido en nuestra vida diaria. "Amar la Vida" una palabra muy bella que muchas veses tomamos sin pensar lo que realmente significa VIVIR . El proposito de nuestro Senor desde el comienso de la creacion era que vivieramos en obediencia a el y que vivieramos felises.Miestras se acerca el dia de la venida del Senor la cituacion entre Hermanos de fe, Familiares, Amigos y otros se a tornado dificil de manejar.

Yo e tenido 2 personas en mi vida que en muchas ocasiones llegan hacer un estorbo en mi vida personal y espiritual. Lo bueno esque siempre logro volver la cara al Senor y buscar el perdon si esque e ofendido a esas personas o si ellos me han ofendido a mi . Desgraciadamente nada va a cambiar en cuanto a estas personas pues el unico que puede cambiar al corazon nuetro es El Senor .En situaciones como estas lo unico que yo ago es orar y pedir perdon primeramente al Senor y tratar de ser la mejor persona que puedo ser para su Gloria. Recordandome que mis ojos tienen que estar en El y no en el mal que cause o que me han causado . Sabiendo que el Senor no escucha las oraciones delos que hacen el mal ,Trato de resolver los problemas siempre pidiendole su guiansa. Hay muchas cosas que no se pueden remediar en la vida y la ofensa es muy grande . Pero la verdad como pregunto Pedro encuanto al Perdon en:

Es obio que nuestro Senor quiso decir con esta respuesta que no hay limite para perdonar las ofensas de los demas. Hoy en dia vivimos contanto las ofensas y calumnias y no perdonando . como dijo el Hermano Coleto en su predicacion , Porque no mejor ser "NICE" para no tener que llegar a el punto de tener que perdonar . Porque el perdon es importante en la vide del creyente puesto que claro lo dise la palabra que arreglemos los problemas entre ambos.

El enemigo es bueno para ponernos encontra de los demas y para usar nuestras debilidades ya sea para peliar danar o para calumniar alos demas . Que tristeza me da a mi la verdad puesto que yo e sido victima de calumnias y enganos y mentiras . Pero yo tambien e maltrato en alguna ocasion. Me siento orgullosa por admitirlo y decirlo pues eso es importante para poder vivir una vida mejor y poder enfrentarme ala realidad de mis errores .

El Senor tiene un plan grande para cada uno de nosotros , Y lo que pasa cuando no somos "NICE" o no "Perdonamos" es que vivimos nuestra vida con dolor con coraje literalmente estamos en una carcel emocional vivimos como una persona con CANCER y la verdad no estamos haciendo lo que el Senor dise que es nuetro proposito.Es mejor traer nuestras diferencias al Senor pues el ya sabe lo que estamos pasando . En mi experiencia e decidido hace mucho tiempo el brindar las diferencias al Senor , Mis perdones al Senor.Darle al Senor mis dificultades, La verdad me a ayudado de gran manera.

Les mando este mensaje pues el perdon y el ser Nice es escencial para obtener las bendiciones que el Senor tiene planiado para nosotros . Tomo este momento para Pedir Perdon a los que e danado en el pasado . Y tambien para decir a aquellos que me han danado a mi que ya los e perdonado . We deal with relationships everyday of our life. If we did not deal with relationships everyday we just would not be human. I don’t mean relationship with your husband or wife but, EVERY relationship. The relationship that you have with your children your neighbor your coworker your family member’s etc.

The need to socialize in a human being is awesome and at the same time sometimes painful. In my short life of 35 year LOL!! I have come across some difficult relationships, some more difficult then others. Making things right has always been a challenge for me in the past but in 2003 The Lord gave me a chance to live again. By introducing me to His word and how to change my life. It started in my place of work with the people I worked and with the relationship with my boss and changing the way I dealt with people of service (Restaurants etc.)As a shipping manager I managed all man except for in my 13 years of service to 2 females. Yes I even had issues with people of service.

I don’t mention my house because I have always been the best I can be at home and in my relationship with my husband I have to say we have seen eye to eye about 95% of the time . Coming from one failed relationship I made a promise to myself that this one will not fail.

Yeah some people specially those who don’t take the time to get to know me see me and see a person who things she is above them all or is stuck up or things she is all that and more. I guess people are confused about the way I carry myself .We all have our life story about how we came to Christ, I have a really good one but is too long. But I do know that coming to meet Christ has been a life changing experience to me and I have and I’m still in the process of trying to change this feeling I can definitely give to people sometimes. I’m assertive, confident and a very helpful person. I like things that are right in almost every area .I’m extremely sensitive and hurt very easily that is my weakness. So some might find me too much to handle.

In any case I like to die trying to be the best I can be for those who chose to be around me. It is so difficult to be at peace with everyone, it is emotionally exhausting to pursue relationships everyday. Especially when they are just not working out. As the Lord has guided me through this road of life I have had to HUMBLE myself to the need of others. It hasn’t been an easy road but with the Lord with me all is possible.

The bible talks about all kinds of relationships.
1 Peter 3:8 (Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.)
Clearly speaks about relationships ALL relationships. In laws your brother your sister your neighbor your coworker etc.,I have had some terrible relationships that I have been able to mend with Gods help but some that are just sinking more and more and more that gets to a point that there is no saving them any more. Everything seems to be going fine but all of the sudden the car crashes and you can no longer take it to the shop to fix it.

"Humbling Spirit"

Humility, if I could just learn to care for others and always see them as better then myself that would just be a huge change in everyday relationships. If we just stop thinking that our way is better or that is the only way, We hate compromises we are inflexible I’m the wise one you are not, I’m at all times more important then you are. Every time we have this attitude we aren't stirring our car the right way.

Gods influence in our daily living amazes me personally; How He uses his rod to guide us everyday like the pastor does his sheep. Literally yelling at you as he sees you moving the wrong direction. “Get back here”. As we have been given the right to chose we are the ones who chose where we move towards. But is we are wise we chose for our Pastor to guide our ways
Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.”

So as we read that Psalm we see that our Lord is very specific when he tells us that He guides us in paths of righteousness. We aren’t perfect but we must try to live our life according to Gods plan. As we proclaim to live a life like Christ did and we live with imperfection everyday it becomes complicated in unstable relationships. We must ask ourselves, are we living up to the espectations that the Lord has for me in my relationship with others? The most commend answer would be NO.

I few have made mistakes in the past relationships the best thing to do is to try to mend those as best we can. We would like the word of our God to be above any petty fight or argument. We show that we have real strength in God , Cause at times I have personally been in a horrible place in my life , But hear me out I have the freedom to say I have been on my knees I’m walking with God and I’m experiencing His strength and no one can stop me at this time .About my future I know the Lord and He strengthens me and He is my Guide and I trust in Him. Things will be better tomorrow.

As we deal with difficult relationships .When it seems like the wrong people are in control. This relationship is not working with your family member your husband your coworkers etc. I will fear no evil, because you are with me God. How do we know this? As I had mentioned before the Lord clearly says that His Rod and Staff comfort me.

He uses His Rod and Staff to discipline us as we stray from His ways, Our Lord Himself allows for difficulty in our life for a clear purpose. This wrong relationship is just a way to strengthen our Faith in Him .He corrects us then guides us back to where we need to be.

I feel proud and happy and humble to say that I have one bad relationship I haven’t been able to fix, But I’m no longer looking to fix it . For I have turned it over to the Lord and He is my Father the one who judges me and disciplines me as He sees necessary. For I was made in His image I too am a parent one who loves his kids and disciplines cause I love them .

Hebrews 12
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

Wouldn’t it be nice to follow what Hebrews 12:14 say’s
“Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”

Our struggles are many but the forgiveness and the strength of the Lord is never ending and it is never to late to start a new life in Christ So make the change in your heart so it all comes close together for all. Think about your life and what ever relationship you have not had success in and ask yourself , Has the Lord guided me with His Rod and Staff but I’m just not paying attention?. Has the Lord disciplined me and I have rejected His discipline because I’m to busy with all of my stupid stuff with my ignorance and in my judging others?

Or have you already embraced the Grace of God in those bad relationships and are now saying this is my opportunity to turn a new page in my life. I shall start to shine brightly in this relationship I will be the humble one Father like you have taught me to be .

I’m so honored to be partnering with Long Beach’s “Steel Magnolias,” a non-profit organization that raises funds for the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center at Miller’s Children Hospital. Over the last several weeks, I’ve had the enormous pleasure of photographing some of the children and their families who’ve greatly benefited from the services provided by the Stramski Center. This is a charity that is very close to my heart.

The children who’ve stood in front of my camera have conditions including autism, Asperbeger’s syndrome, high risk infant development delay, craniofacial deformity and attention deficit disorder. I was simply blown away by the strength, determination, courage and love that these families share. Listening to their stories moved me in a way that is hard to describe, especially as a mother of three healthy children.

It is about time the FDA admits to what many parents have been saying!!

I was blessed to have learned about the harm in Dental Amalgams from the TACA organization , Where I also learned about AUTISM .

Thanks to all of the information I learned in 2007 I was able to choose better for my David who has many sensitivities in brushing his teeth so he had about 10 cavities . Getting him to brush was just a horrible experience. Most of the time by screaming and crying and forcing him to get the toothbrush in his mouth . This is very typical of children on the Spectrum (PDD) because they are just sensitive to that area .

We took the kids to their 6 month dental check up .David accompany me this time because it is very difficult to get David to cooperate . Thank God I have my husband to help the doctor , who by the way is a young knowledgeable guy who explained Amalgams and mercury in 2007. My husband and myself decided that David would not have any AMALGAMS and so we were able to pay for him to get white fills that are 100% natural and safe . they run from 100 to 150 each fill but it sure is worth it . My husband ended up paying about 750 dollars in 2 treatments . The front of David's teeth also needed work so we did the 100%steel that the doctor told us is safe and strong .

I noticed a huge difference between David and Alanis who did get amalgams when she was 2 1/2 this is before I even knew about the harm of them . I'm glad though that these teeth are now falling and she is getting her new ones slowly but surely.

The FDA ( Food and drug Administration) who is supposed to be approving the safest way for us and our kids to receive the best care in Food & in Medicine. Aren't we in the "safest" country in the world , One that looks out for the best of our children?. Well WRONG! , As we came in for my son's dental check up we read the following announcement that was placed all over the area of work of the dentist's .( In regard to the amalgams). So the FDA admits of the amalgams having 50% mercury and it's harm. But yet they approved it for use UNDER YOUR OWN RISK!!!! This is so ridicules .

This is my David at the Dentist . He was being held by dad , Yes he doesn't behave well at the dentist still even though this Doctor has been with him since very small . He had a great check up this time no cavities and all of the white fills are perfect no damages . I guess the 750 dollars was worth it .

*1. What is dental amalgam?
Dental amalgam is the silver-colored material used to fill (restore) teeth that have cavities. Dental amalgam is made of two nearly equal parts: liquid mercury and a powder containing silver, tin, copper, zinc and other metals. Mercury concentration in dental amalgams is generally about 50% by weight, while the silver concentration ranges from 20-35%.

CHICAGO, IL – The 8th Annual International Meeting for Autism Research (IMFAR) will host more than 1500 researchers, delegates, autism specialists, and students in the world's largest gathering of researchers and clinicians devoted to a better understanding of autism. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Chicago Hotel from May 6-9, 2009. Meeting sponsors include Autism Speaks, the Simons Foundation, the Autism Society of America and the National Institutes of Health.

Attendance at this year's meeting is up more than 20 percent from the previous year, reflecting heightened interest and more awareness of this disorder that is now recognized to affect up to one in 150 children in the United States and an estimated one percent of individuals worldwide.

Autism in Britain costs about $43 billion

What is the U.S.A waiting for ?????

LONDON, May 21 (UPI) -- The annual costs of autism spectrum disorder in Britain is more than $42 billion a year, researchers estimate.

The study, published in the Journal Autism, said the cost of supporting children with autism spectrum disorder was estimated to be $4.2 billion per year. The cost of carrying for adults with the disorder was put at $39 billion annually.

Martin Knapp of the London School of Economics provided a comprehensive analysis of the economic impacts of autism spectrum disorder in Britain involving the healthcare system
, social care agencies, education and housing budgets.

The costs were based on estimates for 539,766 people with autism spectrum disorder in the United Kingdom 432,750 adults age 18 and older and 107,016 children and adolescents up to age 17.
The researchers combined existing data estimating prevalence of autism, intellectual disability, place of residence, service use, lost productivity and costs per individual.

The findings were also presented at the Autism & Employment Workshop at the University of London.

David Hamrick, 29, and Lindsey Nebeker, 27, look like a typical couple in love, but what's not apparent is how hard they've worked to be together.

Hamrick and Nebeker live together in a Jackson, Miss., apartment, yet they have separate bedrooms, eat meals apart and spend most of their time focused on their own interests.

This unusual setup is how Hamrick and Nebeker, who are both autistic, make their relationship work.

About 1.5 million people in the United States have autism, with varying degrees of severity. Many people with autism struggle with the most basic social interactions, so finding love may seem like an impossibility.

Hamrick and Nebeker are high-functioning but, since childhood, both have found it difficult to make friends and even harder to keep them.

"All of her socialization had to be learned, usually by hard experience," said Nebeker's father, Gordon Nebeker.

Autistic people can also be hypersensitive to touch and sound. Hamrick can't stand when the room is too warm and cringes at certain sounds; Nebeker can't take florescent lights; and both are profoundly uncomfortable with small talk, said Lynn Harris, who profiled the couple for Glamour magazine.

I find it to be upseting all of the cuts that the very smart Mr. Cortines has done and will do after summer. I mostly getangry when the first area of the district to be affected is the Special education dept. This group already needs more asistance and it will only make it worse to remove more special ed teacher and special ed coordinators from schools . It is a shame that Mr. Cortines feels this needs to be done . He needs to spend the stimulus money he has already received .

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles Unified School District teachers went to plan B Friday after a judge barred them from staging a one-day walkout.
UTLA changed their plan because it didn't want the teachers to risk getting hit with $1,000 fines or losing their credentials.

The union held a loud demonstration at district headquarters Friday that ended with the arrest of 46 protesters who were blocking traffic. Teacher's union president A.J. Duffy was among those arrested.
Teachers also marched outside schools before class started for an hour to protest proposed budget cuts and layoffs, then reported back to classes.
The efforts are to voice their opposition to the LAUSD decision to authorize layoffs that could cost thousands of teachers and school employees their jobs and increase class sizes.
District officials went back court on Thursday seeking a more extended restraining order against the teachers, saying they were concerned that teachers would take part in intentional acts to cause a work stoppage, but the judge refused to extend his orders any further.

Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization, today applauded Representatives Mike Doyle (D-PA), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Eliot Engel (D-NY), and Hank Johnson (D-GA) for their introduction of a House companion bill to the Senate's Autism Treatment Acceleration Act (ATAA), which was introduced last month by Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL), Robert Casey (D-PA), and Robert Menendez (D-NJ). Like the Senate version, the House version of the ATAA (H.R. 2413) is comprehensive federal legislation that addresses several critical challenges facing the autism community, including increased funding for scientific research, treatment and services. The ATAA incorporates provisions from the Expanding the Promise of Individuals with Autism Act (EPIAA), originally proposed by Representatives Doyle, Smith, Engel, and former-Representative Chip Pickering.
As in the Senate's ATAA bill, a key section of the House bill requires all insurance companies to provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASDs), including coverage of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy – a medically-necessary, evidence-based autism treatment. While the number of states that have enacted comprehensive autism insurance reform legislation has grown to ten, most state insurers are still allowed to specifically exclude coverage for these critical services, which can cost upward of $50,000 a year – well beyond the means of most families.
The House version of the bill also addresses the unique needs of adults with ASDs, creating a demonstration project with one-year planning grants and multi-year implementation grants for the provision of service for adults with autism. In addition, it creates the Network for Autism Spectrum Disorders Research and Services aimed at accelerating the dissemination and utilization of critical, new information, moving it from “bench to bedside” as quickly as possible.

WHAT is autism?

The word “autism” often evokes an image of a person with the most severe symptoms of the disorder; however, autism is an umbrella term for a wide range of disorders. Clinically, they may be referred to as “Pervasive Developmental Disorders” (PDDs) or “Autism Spectrum Disorders.”

The term “spectrum” is crucial to understanding autism, because of the wide range of intensity, symptoms and behaviors, types of disorders, and as always, considerable individual variation. Children with autism spectrum disorders may be non-verbal and asocial, as in the case of many with “classic” autism, or Autistic Disorder. On the other end of the spectrum are children with a high-functioning form of autism characterized by idiosyncratic social skills and play, such as Asperger Syndrome. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV), these diagnostic categories are outlined under the heading of “Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDDs).” In the DSM-IV, these disorders are defined by deficits in three core areas: social skills, communication, and behaviors and/or interests. Types of autism spectrum disorders, or PDDs, include:

Autistic Disorder
Asperger Syndrome
Childhood Disintegrative Disorder
Rett Syndrome
Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS)

WHEN is autism diagnosed?

The First Signs of autism most often present themselves before the age of three; with education and practice, some clinicians have even been able to identify the warning signs in children under the age of one. ADHD is divided in 3 different groups , Those being Inatentive those being hyperactive/impulsive and those who are the both combined , Girls on the Inatentive type of the spectrum are dificult to diagnose, Sometimes these girls go un diagnosed all their life . The INATENTIVE TYPE:

* Has difficulty following instructions
* Has difficulty keeping attention on work or play activities at school and at home
* Loses things needed for activities at school and at home
* Appears not to listen
* Doesn't pay close attention to details
* Seems disorganized
* Has trouble with tasks that require planning ahead
* Forgets things
* Is easily distracted

ADHD who is hyperactive/impulsive :

* Fidgety
* Runs or climbs inappropriately
* Can't play quietly
* Blurts out answers
* Interrupts people
* Can't stay in seat
* Talks too much
* Is always on the go
* Has trouble waiting his or her turn

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I THINK MY CHILD HAS ADHD?

Talk with your child's doctor. A diagnosis of ADHD can be made only by getting information about your child's behavior from several people who know your child. Your doctor will ask you questions and may want to get information from your child's teachers or anyone else who is familiar with your child's behavior. Your doctor may have forms or checklists that you and your child's teacher can fill out. This will help you and your doctor compare your child's behavior with other children's behavior.

Your doctor will do vision and hearing tests if these tests haven't been done recently.
Your doctor may recommend trying medicine to see if it helps control your child's hyperactive behavior. A trial of medicine alone cannot be the basis for diagnosing ADHD. However, it can be an important part of evaluating your child if ADHD is suspected.
It might be hard for your doctor to tell if your child has ADHD. Many children who have ADHD aren't hyperactive in the doctor's office. For this reason, your doctor may want your child to see someone who specializes in helping children who have behavior problems, such as a psychologist.

WHAT CAUSES ADHD?

Children who have ADHD do not make enough chemicals in key areas in the brain that are responsible for organizing thought. Without enough of these chemicals, the organizing centers of the brain don't work well. This causes the symptoms in children who have ADHD. Research shows that ADHD is more common in children who have close relatives with the disorder. Recent research also links smoking and other substance abuse during pregnancy to ADHD.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP MY CHILD?

A team effort, with parents, teachers and doctors working together, is the best way to help your child. Children who have ADHD tend to need more structure and clearer expectations. Some children benefit from counseling or from structured therapy. Families may benefit from talking with a specialist in managing ADHD-related behavior and learning problems. Medicine also helps many children. Talk with your doctor about what treatments he or she recommends.

WILL MY CHILD OUTGROW ADHD?

We used to think children would "grow out" of ADHD. We now know that is not true for most children. Symptoms of ADHD often get better as children grow older and learn to adjust. Hyperactivity usually stops in the late teenage years. But about half of children who have ADHD continue to be easily distracted, have mood swings, hot tempers and are unable to complete tasks. Children who have loving, supportive parents who work together with school staff, mental health workers and their doctor have the best chance of becoming well-adjusted adults.

ASPERGER
1. Coeficiente intelectual generalmente por encima de lo normal.
2. Diagnóstico general después de los tres años.
3. Aparición del lenguaje en tiempo normal.
4. Gramática y vocabulario por encima del promedio.
5. Interés general en las relaciones sociales.
6. Algunos rasgos de torpeza.
7. Intereses obsesivos de alto nivel.
8. Padres detectan problemas alrededor de los 2,5 años de edad.
9. El diagnóstico se hace a una edad media de 11,3 años.
10. Las quejas de los padres son problemas de lenguaje o en socialización o conducta.

Claramente que nuestros ninos con asperger son super inteligentes , La deficiensia mas grande que ellos tienen es la socializacion . No que no quieran socializarce si no que nadie les a ensenado . De este hay grados bajos medios y altos . Pero es mi fe y mi experiencia que todo es posible en Cristo y La bendicion de la terapia social y de comportamiento ABA (Applied behavior analisys).Como persona de fe creo que el Senor de los cielos trae el conjunto de fe y medicina natural mas terapia's para que nuestros hijos puedan lograr grandes cosas en la vida .

En el video que yo quisiera que ustedes tomaran el tiempo en ver se mira la inteligencia de estos jobenes pero al mismo tiempo nadie claramente le a dado un segundo de terapia social ni de terapia de comportamiento . Ahora si bemos auna phsycologa que los mira probablemente cada semana o cada mes . Estas phycologas no estan capasitadas para proveer la terapia de socializacion ni de corportamiento . Es estandar qu eun nino o joben o adulto con autismo continue viendo a un phsycologo durante su vida.

Terapia de Socializacion y comportamiento :

En esta se le ensena al nino o al adolescente a hablar de forma apropiada . A tomar turnos hablando a aprender a obserbar los manerismos de los ojos y del cuerpo . Se les ensena lo que es el tomar turnos a saber la diferencia entre lo literal y lo que es fictisio . Se les ensena a aceptar que a lo mejor los demas no los ban a aceptar pero que esto esta bien . Ellos aprienden a poder entablar una conversacion y a poder sostenerla con sus companeros del colegio hasi como en la vida diaria .

Estas terapias son importantisimas pues se habla dela ansiedad social que estos ninos tienen todos los dias . El nerviosismo que no les permite aveses poder sobresalir .

Para ellos es muy dificil el poder tener un tranajo por su ansiedad social y al nino mas pequeno no le an ayudado a salir de su mundo todavia jira cosas en su mano todavia es un poco hiperactivo creo que posiblemente sufre de un problema de atraso sensoral que no le permite estar en paz .

Creo con una Fe total en Dios que El mismo a puesto estos medios para poder lograr cosas grandes. Es muy triste para mi que un padre con un nino especial deje todo a un lado y quiera ignorar sus necesidades tratandolo mal o ignorando lo que lo puede agudar amejorar su conducta o su problema social . El ignorar los problemas de nuestros hijos el gritarles a ellos o el decir que se les ba a quitar solamente hace lo sigiente : cresen y no logran en muchas formas llegar a entender porque se sienten de la forma en la cual se siente . Muchos se casan y si Dios no les proveen una pareja que los comprenda pueden casarse varias veses. Quisas no podran entender a sus hijos y no pueden entender el porque se su propia confusion .

April is AUTISM awareness month and onthe 2nd of April is AUTISM areness day globaly . This sis the month where many of us walk for awareness might attend meetings regarding autism might talk to their peers more about AUTISM . But what is AUTISM really ?. Children who appear normal in their first several years, then lose skills and begin showing autistic behavior, may be diagnosed with childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD). Girls with Rett syndrome, a sex-linked genetic disorder characterized by inadequate brain growth, seizures, and other neurological problems, may also show autistic behavior. PDD-NOS, Asperger syndrome, CDD, and Rett syndrome are referred to as autism spectrum disorders.

Autism in the Holy Land

An Age of Autism reader sent me an article reporting on autism trends over time in Israel. The article is entitled “Time Trends in Reported Autistic Spectrum Disorders in Israel, 1972-2004” and was published in the Israeli Medical Association Journal in January of 2009 (HERE.)
The reader was concerned that little attention was being paid to the findings of the article. Although one might point to a more thorough, recent U.C. Davis study showing the rise in autism is not due to better screening and diagnosis, and suggesting an environmental cause, the findings from the Israeli study are nonetheless chilling.

From the abstract, “The incidence data showed an increase in the number of cases from zero in 1982-1984 and 2 in 1985 (1.2 million per capita under 18 years) in 1985 to a high of 428 cases in 2004 190 per million).” That makes the current rate of autism in Israel to be about 1 in 2,400 kids. But the numbers on a yearly basis tell an even more interesting story than an inexorable rise in autism rates.

The graphic for figure 1 in the document shows a slow increase from 1985 (0 per year) to 1996 (approximately 65), then a sharp increase, peaking in 1999 (about 350), a plunge from that time to a low in 2002 (about 200), then a sharp increase to 2004 (about 450). The authors note that “The fivefold increase in the annual number of patients eligible for disability benefits (author's note - referring to the time-frame between 1996 and 1999) might be attributable to several factors,” and then goes on to identify the usual suspects, namely better diagnosing and reporting.

What’s curious, though, is how this population of medical professionals who were supposedly good at identifying and diagnosing autism in 1999, then had a drop of more than 40% by 2002. Did they lose their newly-acquired skills in a sophomore slump? If I’m not mistaken, those were also the years of the vaccine-autism "panic" which began shortly after the publication of Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s article in the Lancet, linking the MMR shot and autism. Was there a drop in vaccination rates in Israel after the Wakefield publication? Did vaccination rates then subsequently go up in later years?

Think about it. Autism rates in Israel dropped more than 40% during that time. Shouldn’t there be some investigation of what caused this dramatic change? Isn’t this something the CDC should be looking into? Can somebody call Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN?

Because if we could discover what caused such an amazing decrease in autism we'd all have a new miracle from the Holy Land.

Autistic students making progress at aquatics center

SOUTHBOROUGH —
In one corner of the pool, a boy named Robert carefully places a pair of flippers on his feet and eases into the water.
He treads water for a few seconds, dives under the surface and kicks up a plume. His head emerges, and he smiles and begins swimming for the opposite wall.
For the students at the New England Center for Children (NECC), swimming has become engrained in their weekly school routines. Just as the students differ in where they fall on the spectrum of autism disorders, they also range in skill and comfort level in the water.
But for most, the pool is a place where they can thrive.
It has been a year since the Michael S. Dukakis Aquatic Center opened at NECC. In that time, most students have made progress in the pool. While some were once too scared even touch the water's surface, they now get their feet wet. For others, progress has come in the form of building endurance and stroke development.
"It's a part of the culture now," said Aquatics Director Kristen Sidman. "For all the kids, they're learning functional life skills no matter where they are on the spectrum."
In the last year, NECC reports that in physical and adaptive education, including pool and gym time, 83 percent of elementary day students and 82 percent of residential students have attained at least one more physical or behavior skill than they initially had. Eighty-nine percent of preschoolers made the same progress.
"Over 80 percent (of all students) have advanced their skill level," Sidman said. "That's very significant because some autistic kids learn very slowly."
Residential students at NECC swim three to four times a week between lessons and recreation time, while day students are at the pool twice a week for lessons and can come to evening swim times Monday through Saturday with their families.
The hour-long sessions include about 30 minutes of lessons, with 15 minutes on either end for changing and showering. Lessons include warmup time, working on skills as a group and one-on-one time with aquatics staff and classroom teachers. Each session ends with a game or playtime with squirt guns or dive toys.
NECC follows the American Red Cross swimming and water safety program. Students are assessed after every lesson, and records are kept on their achievements. Each has an aquatics goal on their education plan.
Most preschool students are at level one, getting acclimated to the water. About 100 students are at level two, working on fundamentals like swimming short distances, floating on their backs or going underwater.
Others are at level three and are working on strokes, treading water and swimming longer distances. Fewer are at level four and concentrate on improving strokes and swimming laps.
The pool was designed keeping in mind that most students would be at the lower levels. The shallow end runs the length of one side of the pool, while the deep end is two lap lanes that are six feet deep.
On Thursday afternoon, a class of boys ages 14 to 18 were led in a lesson on floating on their backs and stomachs. Then they worked individually on swimming the length of the pool or jumping into the water. Before the end of class, they played a popular game called "sharks and minnows."
Not all the students have been as adaptive to the water, and instructors work to gradually ease their fears, asking them to go a little further each time - from entering the pool area with clothes, to putting on their bathing suit to finally touching the water.
"Some sit on the pool steps by themselves, and before they wouldn't do that," Sidman said. "Until they can get to the next point, they stay where they are comfortable."
For children with autism, tasks like working in a group, following instructions or being close to others aren't always easy. But the pool has become a place where many are comfortable, Sidman said.
"All these things are really challenging for kids with autism," she said. "To see a group work together is in and of itself an accomplishment."
The health benefits are also sizeable, as swimming works all muscle groups and helps build endurance. Most importantly, it's fun and isn't always viewed as exercise, said Phil Leonard, an adaptive physical education instructor.
"I think some of them realize that they're getting exercise," Leonard said. "But most of them are really enjoying it."
Instructors also use video as a learning tool to help students figure out how to coordinate their arm and leg movements. They show clips of what a stroke should look like, then clips of how the student looks doing it.
"They have a decreased perception of their bodies in space and where their limbs are," Sidman said. "This is a way to show them."
After class, all students must take a shower before getting dressed, providing another opportunity for the students to practice life skills, Sidman said.
NECC founder and CEO Vincent Strully Jr. says he takes time out of his schedule to watch the kids swim at the $6 million aquatic center. Their smiles are satisfying to see after developing a capital plan to focus on building a pool about eight years ago, he said.
"It was worth every penny and all the hard work," he said. "We wanted it for many years, and we're thrilled with it."

This is a wonderful article I wanted to share with you guys because I know how it feels and how my kids on the spectrum feel about going to the movies .

My now7 year old daugther with Aspergers, has anxiety and sensory related issues .So when she was little and we didn't have the diagnosis she wouldn't sit still and so she would run and sit and scream at the load sounds , yes we were asked to leave many times.

She has improved so much now but still,
She either gets to overwhelmed that she looses her breath and we must take turns my husband and myself taking her outside to breath and if its sensory related is too muc h and we have to do the same thing . But she doesn't want us to stop taking her . They love the movies even though they have dificulties .

My son with classic HFA. He gets scared and covers his face and ears at the loud noises but doesn't want to leave . He used to cry and yes we have been told to leave when he wa little so now he wants to go but it has to be at his terms . siting there allowing him to cover his ears and between mom and dad so he can hold on to us . When things get to scary or lloud we d o have t o leave .

I know one day they will sit and not be bothered by the sensory issues and the anxiety or the 3-D visions they naturally deal with .

I have total faith in healing and so one day I will see that and I already thank God for that day .

Four: How many times the Alpharetta 6-year-old scooted out of his seat and up the aisle toward the lobby during a morning showing of “Hotel for Dogs” at the AMC Phipps Plaza.

Three: Number of trips he made to the concessions stand with his father, Chris.

One: Very good time he had, simply getting to be a kid.

“It’s just fun for him,” Chris Morrison said before he and Chase watched an entire “sensory-friendly” movie with other autistic children and their families. “You don’t always think about that, but it matters.”

Indeed, pint-size Americans are endowed with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty and —- perhaps most important —- the pursuit of endless hours of watching “Shrek” and “Harry Potter” in darkened theaters while consuming twice their weight in popcorn and Milk Duds.

But what if the same things that make moviegoing so exciting for kids —- cartoon pandas kung fu-ing in blazing Technicolor, that wacky “Madagascar 2” menagerie playing it for very loud laughs —- can prove unsettling to those with autism? Among some of autism’s more common traits are sensitivity to sound, hyperactivity, distress when normal routines are changed, and a tendency to repeat words or phrases.

Not exactly conducive to sitting quietly through, say, “Hotel for Dogs” for more than 90 minutes in a crowded multiplex.

“My son loves to go to the movies, and at the end he has to sing to all the credits,” said Heidi Fernandez, a Woodstock mother of an autistic 14-year-old, who knows of families that can’t take their children to movies for fear of being asked to leave. “That’s why this is an amazing resource.”

“This” is a recently launched effort to show first-run movies in “sensory-friendly” form at select AMC theaters. The lights are turned up, the sound is turned down, and ads, coming attractions and AMC’s “Silence Is Golden” policy all get the old heave-ho.

That’s why, on this particular Saturday, Chase was free to let out a delighted “A-Ha-HA!” not long after the movie featuring a four-legged troupe straight out of Cuddly K-9 Central Casting had begun.

“In a normal theater, that would get a bunch of ‘Shhhshes,’ ” said Chris, who’d purposely sat on the aisle so his son could “escape” when necessary. “But here, nothing.”

Two weeks earlier, they’d tried and failed to make it all the way through “The Tale of Despereaux.” But that was at a regular showing, which Chris and his wife, Beth, had decided to give a try after seeing how much Chase enjoyed one of the first sensory-friendly films at Phipps.

“It was too dark and loud for him,” said Chris, a manufacturer’s rep for a ceiling fan company. “He was getting up a lot. And he just started laughing at an inappropriate time.”

But on this day, there were no inappropriate times to laugh —- or do anything else. Some children hummed softly or repeated favorite words or phrases, while others occasionally drummed the floor with their feet. One little girl rocked back and forth on her mother’s knee, her hands pressed tightly over her ears while her eyes never left the screen. A boy clutching a plastic sword raced up the aisle and back again.

For a newcomer, it wasn’t much more distracting than sitting in a theater full of grownups who “forget” to turn off their cellphones or start whispering about where to go eat halfway through the movie. For the parents and other adults in the audience, the relief at not having to explain their children’s behavior to anyone was obvious.

“It’s more relaxing for us,” said Chris, who wishes more companies would make similar accommodations for autistic and special needs children. “Frankly, this is a very good business decision. On Sundays when my parents watch the kids, my wife and I are going to go to an AMC theater over any other [chain] because of what they’ve done for us.”

Still, business seemed the furthest thing from his mind as he and his son watched a sweetly silly kids’ movie together from start to finish —- albeit with a few brief “escapes.” Returning from one such trip to the lobby, Chase spied his seat and dove for it, an ear-to-ear grin spreading across his face. His father handed him a frozen Edy’s Fruit Bar, his second of the day.

“He wins,” Chris laughed, watching Chase’s eyes dart between the pooches on screen and the treat in his hand. “There’s a fine line between discipline and just letting him enjoy himself.

“Today, enjoyment wins.”

I love this video because is clearly displays the autism spectrum in its fullspectrum . from what is considered to be high fuctioning to what is considered t o be severe . Regardless of where on the spectrum your kid might be, our kids have the same creator as we do and the same rights if not more rights then we considered t o be normal people .

Asperger Sindrome once again not too BAD

I would be lying if I said that I didn't expect Daniel Tammet to be at least a little odd. He has Asperger's, a form of autism, and is a savant with a talent for languages and numbers. This is a man who taught himself Icelandic in a week and once recited the first 22,514 digits of pi - from memory. For those of us who knew pi was infinite but never really got beyond 3.14, it all seems, well, almost alien. He hates that idea. Daniel thinks savants get a bad press and it is true that the only really famous savant is Raymond Babbitt, the hopeless but engaging genius of the film Rain Man. Daniel has been called the British Rain Man but bridles at the comparison. As he has said, he has a partner, a job, friends. “How could I be considered a Rain Man?”.

Daniel Tammet was born on January 31, 1979. He knows it's a Wednesday because he sees it as blue and all Wednesdays are. He calls his childhood “difficult”, a major understatement. As an infant he cried incessantly, as a young child he hardly spoke. At 4 he had an epileptic fit. He was the first of nine children. One of Daniel's brothers also has Asperger's, a high-functioning type of autism, but is not a savant as well. His father was a factory worker who battled with schizophrenia for much of his adult life.

Asperger's wasn't diagnosed until Daniel was 25 and so, at school, he got by as best he could. His talents for maths and languages did not compensate for his inability to socialise. His world was complex, bedevilled by small things: even brushing his teeth was problematical as he couldn't bear the scratchy noise and could only do so in short bursts and with parental help.

No Man Can Serve Two Masters

Jesus let us know that when the church is where she needs to be, she's as a city set on a hill that can't be hid. Some say they can't see the church; however, if the church will be the church, she can't be hid. If we will lift up our eyes, God has more for us than we're getting hold of. He's not satisfied with us working as we are. There are greater things to be accomplished.

When God poured out His Holy Spirit on the morning church, they were in one accord, and that's still necessary. If we want precious outpourings of God in our midst, we must reach that one accord. I'm not talking about agreeing on every point of doctrine. There was a lot of doctrine which the morning church didn't understand, yet they were in one accord. They were sold out to God and they had one thing in mind: being a useful instrument for God. They wanted the Gospel to go forth to a lost and dying world. They knew it was the only hope of the world being detoured from hell.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gave some definite teachings to His disciples. I realize that what I'm dealing with is something that many, if not most look at as unnecessary. On the contrary, one could not say anything is unnecessary when it's in red letters in the Bible, because those are the words that Christ Himself spoke.

In Matthew 5:1-2 we read: "And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them..." This was a message to teach His disciples. I'm dealing with the thought of who His disciples are; He started out by telling them who is blessed and who is not blessed.

Jesus showed that the New Testament standard was bringing morality back to God's original law. God had granted some things because of the hardness of hearts, but now Jesus was once again bringing it back to the standard of God's moral law which had been established from the very beginning. Then in the sixth chapter, he warned about doing righteousness before men just so that men will see. Certainly, we want to be seen of men, but we can't do it for the purpose of men seeing us. He let us know that He was looking on the motive of the heart.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:24-30: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you [in other words, "Because you cannot serve God and mammon, I say unto you...", Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

"Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?" Jesus didn't think His disciples had much faith. He had His disciples apart on a mountain. He wasn't talking to some mass multitude when He said, "O ye of little faith."

Claro esa es solo mi opinion y muchos padres no la comparten. Manual de trastornos mentales levanta debate antes de publicarse

Psiquiatras discuten si las compras compulsivas y la transexualidad son desórdenes patológicos.

Ni el más célebre de los autores de bestsellers logra levantar la expectativa y el debate que está despertando la próxima edición del "libro de los problemas humanos", como tildó el diario The New York Times al Manual Diagnóstico y Estadístico de Desórdenes Mentales (DSM, por sus siglas en inglés).

El libro, que se edita desde 1952, es un referente para profesionales de la salud mental, pues compila todos los desórdenes de este tipo que pueden afectar a niños y adultos que han sido aceptados por la comunidad médica. Además de describir sus síntomas, entrega prevalencia por género y edad y describe el curso de la enfermedad.

La anorexia, la depresión, la esquizofrenia o el trastorno obsesivo compulsivo son algunos de los 283 desórdenes que describe la actual edición, conocida como DSM-IV y lanzada en el año 2000.

Y aunque la quinta edición saldrá al mercado recién en mayo de 2012, ésta ya está levantando polémica entre psiquiatras y otros expertos en salud mental, inquietos por qué trastornos quedarán clasificados como desórdenes mentales.

Asperger y autismo

Entre los temas polémicos, los psiquiatras a cargo de editar la próxima calificación deberán determinar si consideran como desórdenes mentales la adicción a las compras y la ingesta compulsiva de alimentos. Lo mismo ocurre con el fetichismo.

También tendrán que definir si sacan de la lista los trastornos de identidad de género, cuadro que incluye a personas que se identifican con el sexo opuesto. Sobre si es o no una trastorno ni siquiera las organizaciones transgénero se han puesto de acuerdo.

Mientras algunas abogan por retirarlo del manual, porque no consideran que se trate de un desorden mental, otras prefieren mantenerla, porque así los transgénero pueden obtener cobertura para seguir un tratamiento o recurrir a una intervención de cambio de sexo.

Otro punto a discutir es si el síndrome de Asperger se fundirá en una misma categoría con el autismo de alto funcionamiento. Ambos son casi idénticos, pero tienen distintas connotaciones sociales.

Según indica The New York Times, debido a las consecuencias que implica la calificación para las aseguradoras de salud, para la investigación y para la identidad psicológica de los individuos, "el proceso de edición se ha vuelto un ejercicio tan científica y socialmente beligerante, que por primera vez la Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría ha exigido a sus colaboradores firmar un acuerdo de confidencialidad".

"En psiquiatría nadie conoce las causas de nada, así que la clasificación puede ser motivada por todo tipo de factores: político, social y financiero", dice Edward Shorter, un historiador de la psiquiatría y crítico del manual.

Otros detractores sostienen que la política de clasificación de desórdenes del DSM no es suficientemente estricta y por mucho tiempo han tendido un manto de duda sobre supuestos pagos que las empresas farmacéuticas habrían hecho a autores del manual para influenciar sus decisiones.

Para hacer más transparente el proceso, "los científicos que aceptaron la invitación a trabajar en el nuevo manual -lo que se considera una distinción- acordaron limitar sus ingresos por parte de empresas farmacéuticas y otras fuentes a US$ 10 mil al año por la duración del trabajo, consigna The New York Times. Según explica el doctor Darrel Regier, director de investigación de la Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría, a ese diario, la cifra es más conservadora que las reglas de muchas instituciones y universidades.

Denial and AUTISM!!!!

According to webster DENIAL means the following :

1. refusal to admit the truth or reality ...

2. a psychological defense mechanism in which confrontation with a personal problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality...

I deal with many parents every month that are dealing with this issue in their life , After the diagnosis of AUTISM has become a reality to them . It is normal for a parent to try to fall in the DENIAL process . I know in my personal jurney with AUTISM I had some denial but honestly I had it for a few hours , I thank God for that . As per my husband he never had denial at all . He embrassed the situation with our kids with an open heart . So it's normal for a parent to go through this process but it becomes dangerous for the child and the parent when after a few months or years the parent does nothing to improve the life of the child .

After coming acrows with a few parents who have decided to block themselves from what is real . I have come up with a list of things parents have used as an excuse t o either not give services to their kids or not follow the DAN protocol . Here they are :

1. It is only a speech problem .....

2. My kids is just too active that is all ....

3. He/She will be just fine , We just have to give it time .....

4. It's too much school they are too little....

5. They tell me it is just very mild!!!!.

Now these are only the top 5 , I can't do any more cause really there is too many excuses and I don't have that much time right now for that. But I have as well come up with atop 5 reason's why you should stop think and react to your diagnosis , If you are interested please read on .

1. Early intervention is the key to success with our children . If we have a child who is either not speaking or who has a speech delay . It is very important to first have them assest by the proper person . Once the assestmnent has been completed it is only fair for the child that we ask the speech therapist to explain the findings and to let you know at what level of speech our kid is in comparison to their peers . This is important to be able to address the issue strongly.
We should never settle for once aweek or just let the school deal with it . You should be concerned with your child speech and should be looking in other ways to get speech from none profit organizations via the insurance . Pay for it if you can . But do it at least 3 hours per week . Specially for a just diagnosed child .
If you intent to do biomedical and you should . Get yopurself a good DAN doctor and follow the protocol . and start with the following : Vitamin B6- B12 Cod liver oil ,omega 3, HBOT, Super-nuthera... GFCF DIET and nutrition

2. Activity in our kid is usually normal cause of the fact that it is either of 2 things one is Hiperactivity disorder or the main one , Sensory issues . I ususally go with number 2 the sensory problems . These problems will never go away but can be dealt with .
Do yo uhave a kids that just can't sit still is touching everything and putting all things in their mouth or climbing ETC. well this child is a sensory seeker like my alanis and yo u need sensory therapy that will help regulate his sensory overload . this therapy can be done by parents at home but clinical therapy is better at least 2 times peer week .
This child might as well be having some anxiety too so you migth want to try the following .

The Dan protocal calls for the already mentioned on 1 and add DMG/TMG or a supplement by Planetary Herbals called Calm Child .
3.What are we giving time to??. Our kids with autism have something called regretion . This means if we don't constantly teach they will stop learning .

4.What is too much ?. All medical profesionals and therapist with no exception tells a parent that there is never too much of any therapy . The more the better .

5.MILD!!!. ASD stands for Autism Spectrum Disorder . The spectrum is the following :

Severe ** Mild ***PDD *** High fuctioning *** Apergers

Regardless of where in the spectrum your child is all of the above mentioned are excellent and should be address seriously .

Let Us Consider Our Ways
What are we doing with our life?

Why is it we often seem to get bored?
Each day is like a replica of the previous one.
We work, we eat, we sleep,

take a look at our life-style and ourself.

Let us not forget why we are here.
God wants us where we are because He has a

because there, full life was made possible for you.
The Cross is the answer to life's boredom.
It's vertical bar points us to God,
and it's horizontal bar points us to others.

We are alive!
And great is the possession of life ~
our first and most precious gift from God.

blowing through your hair;
to glory in a sunset or a smile of a loved one;
to relax in utter weariness,

As followers of Christ we sit in our Church in Sunday morning and as we listen to the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Saviour being taught by our Pastor . I know these words have come out of your mouth . "I wish so and so were here because they really need that message". What we don't realise is that that message was for you at that very moment . The Lord made it so that you where sitting there at that time in that place to listen to those words . So at that moment those words were for you and for those around you .

But as we walk out of service we must at all times practice that same positive thing we heard by the word of God in Sunday morning service . Most of the time we don't even share it with our neigh boor with our friends with our family members . Some of us feel so special about knowing about the word of God that we don't want certain people to know it because they do not deserve it .

"The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone "

So sad it is as we have made ourselves believe that all we need is material things like a nice car nice house nice children nice husband and even going out to eat has become a priority in our life . It becomes sad as we see those things fade away and we no longer have the house and the car or the nice husband or the nice kids etc . What are we left with ?. People who believe that is of high importance think they are left alone with nothing . But they have not realized that the word of God is eternal , It is the road map to a happy and successful life in all areas . So I go back to say to you the Gospel is for everyone .

The Gospel is for the neighbor you dislike for the mom you can't get along with is for the person next to you at your office you can't stand is for the husband you can't understand is for your kids to grow up ,is for you, is for you, is for you .

The empowering word of Jesus Christ lives inside of us . I only think we aren't listening or we are straight out lazy. Oh we say to each other as long as my children know about the Lord is OK , As long as mu husband knows is OK , As long as my wife knows ETC. You couldn't be more wrong.

Choices , Choices, Choices so many we have to make but we usually don't carry out what the lord intents us to do . I would like for you to consider today the Gospel of Jesus Christ to make awesome choices in your life .Good choices are based up on having already established priorities in your life .

The Parable of the Rich Fool

Luke 12 : 13-21

Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me."
Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions."
And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'
"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '
"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'
"This is how it will be with those who store up things for themselves but are not rich toward God."

The main story here is the use of money but he failed to priorities and by doing that he made wrong choices putting self destructive behaviour in front of him . Just like we do everyday thinking about I , I , I , what about me , what about what I want . This mans thinking like many of us think I will just live life and be marry who cares as long as I'm a good person . Personal pleasure was the main important thing in this parable . Do you find yourself feeling this way ?. I know I have , But stopping your self from making the same choices over and over again make a difference in your life . I would like to encourage you today to try making up with the Lord of your wrong choices and find your priorities for you and for your family . Making the Gospel of Jesus Christ your priority is a start.

Galatians 6 :7-10

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. People reap what they sow. Those who sow to please their sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; those who sow to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Friends we can not deceive the Lord . We can not get away with wrong choices wrong priorities in our life . A good heart with bad priorities still hurt us very much . Many of us do this , Think about your life where you are going , Review talk to your spouse figure out what is important . Do you even have priorities ?. Many of us go around life without a plan , Just living life for living .

Do you find yourself waking up every morning and doing the same thing you did yesterday with no meaning ?. Are you just busy trying to please others and not your family ?. Some of us think making choices is too difficult we think yes Is ALL GOOD !!! .. Are you buying that?. Do you sit in your living room in your house or apartment and say to yourself I love my life my children's life my marriage and most I love the relationship I have with The Lord !. If you have made the right priorities this is you .

Some think rules Oh my God is too hard . Try to make a list of your family expectations . #1 Love God # 2 Family First #3 work hard #4 tell the truth etc. make a list following those and as long as you don't move #1. The Lord has wonderful victory planned for us . Nothing great is easy , The Lord has made you to be successful in everything you do .But choices and priorities are a must in our life .

For those who are experiencing failure in your marriage , I tell you fight to save it , for those who haven't forgiven someone in your life I tell you go to them forgive them . For those who feel there is no other choices I tell you YES there is .

Don't despair my brother and sister the Gospel of Jesus Christ is here for all of us . The Lord is knocking to the door in our heart . You can't fail him and you can't fail your family and you can't fail those around you . You are a Christian a son or daughter of the Creator of the Universe , You are so special yet you don't even feel it .

Sensory Integration Dysfunction
(SID, also called sensory processing disorder)

is a neurological disorder causing difficulties with processing information from the five classic senses (vision, auditory, touch, olfaction, and taste), the sense of movement (vestibular system), and/or the positional sense (proprioception).
For those with SID, sensory information is sensed normally, but perceived abnormally. This is not the same as blindness or deafness, because, unlike those disorders, sensory information is sensed by people with SID, but the information tends to be analyzed by the brain in an unusual way that may cause distress or confusion.

It can also be a characteristic of other neurological conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, Developmental Dyspraxia, Tourette Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and speech delays, among many others.

Unlike many neurological problems that require validation by a licensed psychiatrist or physician, this condition is most often diagnosed by an occupational therapist. It is increasingly being diagnosed by developmental pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, and child psychologists. While it has not yet been included in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as a discrete diagnosis, Regulatory-Sensory Processing Disorder is an accepted diagnosis in Stanley Greenspan’s Diagnostic Manual for Infancy and Early Childhood and the Zero to Three’s Diagnostic Classification.
There is no known cure; however, there are many treatments available.

"Let us not become tired of doing good.
At the right time we will gather a crop if we don't give up."

Years ago I heard a story about a little boy whose mother put him on the bus for school. Before the bus doors closed and the mother could walk away, the little boy turned around and got back off.

“What are you doing?” the mother asked. “You need to go to school.”

“I know,” he answered. “But I want to stay home today. School is hard, and sometimes it’s boring. And besides, it takes too long.”

The wise mother knelt down and looked him in the eyes. “Son,” she said, “you just described life. Now get back on the bus.”

Lately I have noticed that many of us (myself included!) have had some very long, extremely hard, and sometimes boring days at “school,” and we’ve been tempted to get off the bus and just go back home. It seems no matter how hard we try or how much effort or time we expend, no one appreciates it and we just don’t see much in the way of a return on our investment.

But God sees what we do. He knows our heart, and He knows that we are often weary and on the edge of discouragement. But He has given us a great promise in Galatians 6:9 that if we will not grow weary while doing good and fulfilling His purpose and call for our lives, then “in due season” we will reap the reward for our efforts. We will see that lost one come to Jesus. We will receive the necessary provision or the long-awaited healing. We will experience that restored relationship. We may even be recognized for the long hours we put into working for the Kingdom. Or not.

And that’s the key—that we hold tight to God’s promise and His faithfulness, even if we don’t see the rewards in this lifetime. If we know that we know that we KNOW that we are following hard after Him, pursuing the goal He has set for us, then we don’t need to lose heart, regardless of the results (or lack thereof). We don’t know the “due season” in which we shall reap what we have sown in His name, but we can trust Him to bring it to pass in the fullness of His time. And when He does, the joy will more than compensate any tears we may have shed along the way.

So stay on the bus, beloved! Life is sometimes hard, sometimes boring, and sometimes seems to take forever. But we serve a mighty God—and we serve Him shoulder to shoulder, together. It is an honor to sit next to you on the bus.

Michael Phelps ADHD is not an attention deficit

To much of the ADHD community, Michael Phelps’s phenomenal swimming at the Bejing Summer Olympics is a beacon of pride and hope. For all the advances in diagnosing and treating ADHD, it remains greatly stigmatized. In chat rooms and bulletin boards people post items like “ADHD is not a disability” as a way of giving support to those who are living with it. Yet, after we watch Michael Phelps, his fierce determination and single-minded focus, it is clear that even the name Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder falls short in describing just what ADHD is. Clearly Michael Phelps has no shortage of attention!

Many people have no idea that Michael Phelps has ADHD, yet he hasn’t kept it a secret. In an August 13, 2008 TimesOnline article, his mother is quoted as saying, “In kindergarten I was told by his teacher, ‘Michael can’t sit still, Michael can’t be quiet, Michael can’t focus.’ I said, maybe he’s bored. The teacher said that was impossible. “He’s not gifted,” came back the reply. “Your son will never be able to focus on anything.”

How many people with ADHD are told just that – you’ll never be able to focus on anything! Obviously after Michael Phelps’s summer of 2008 performance, it’s clear that ADHD does not have to stop you from focusing on and reaching your dreams.

Today let’s take a page from Michael’s book and channel our passions. If we do, imagine what we can accomplish. As his coach, Bob Bowman, says, “One of the things I call Michael is the motivation machine. Bad moods, good moods, he channels everything for gain. He’s motivated by success, he loves to swim fast and when he does that he goes back and trains better. He’s motivated by failure, by money, by people saying things about him … just anything that comes along he turns into a reason to train harder, swim better. Channelling his energy is one of his greatest attributes.”

Congratulations Michael on your gold bonanza. And thank you for providing the ADHD community a role model that shatters all of our sterotypes!

Soy el trenecito que si lo puede . Cuando en el camino de la vida Mis rrieles me llevaron a una Montana - El diagnostico de AUTISMO yo lo mire como un desafio , Pensando que no abria forma de superarlo .

Una y otra ves , Me dije “ Pienso que si lo lograre , Pienso que si lo lograre.
Fue entonces que comense a subir esta Montana el Senor a puesto en frente de mi repitiendo.
Contigo “Senor lo lograre” , contigo “Senor lo lograre.”

Estoy sobrepasando este diagnostico de Autismo y en este camino solo tomo la fuerza que solamente puede venir de aquel quien le dio la vida a mis hijos . (Filipenses 4:13)

Soy mas dedicada que la esposa de Noe . Me encuenro en este apartamento como en el bote por 365 dias y 365 noches al ano .
Cuando el viento de soledad y monotomia es insoportable . No me paro y me alejo , Mas bien me arrodillo ala orilla de mi cama y busco el rostro de mi senor para poder mirar el arco iris que solamente el Espiritu Santo puede traerme. (Romanos 5:5)

Soy una madre Cristiana , Un guerrero de Cristo , Con mi armadura de hierro puedo pelear a cualquiera que se ponga en frente del progreso de mis hijos …..

Con la fuerza que el Senor me brinda puedo mirar sobre las miradas y ignorancia de aquellas personas cuales no saben enterder lo que es vivir con Autismo.

Por la inteligencia que El Creador me a brindado tengo la capacidad de educar a aquellos que lo permiten . De la misma forma puedo pelear al Distrito escolar para obtener los derechos de educacion que mis hijos necesitan. (Efesios 6:11)

Brian Lafferty, radio-TV-film major, holds an anthology of stories that he contributed to.

"If someone were to ask me what it feels like to be autistic, it would be hard for me to describe. I hardly ever think about it."
So starts an essay by Brian Lafferty, a Cal State Fullerton radio-TV-film major, who is proving that autism is not, in his own words, "a curse."
The essay is part of "Voices of Autism — The Healing Companion: Stories for Courage, Comfort and Strength," an anthology of stories from the perspective of parents, caregivers, teachers, and friends.

"Voices of Autism," edited by The Healing Project, was published last month by LaChance Publishing as part of a "Voices of" book series that offers support, perspective, insight and information on life-threatening or chronic diseases.
Lafferty's autism was discovered in 1997, when he was 11.

"When I look back, there were signs but we didn't see them," said Brian's mom, Debbie Lafferty. "He was the fifth child after four girls, so we didn't think anything about his slowness in speaking. In other things, he was very quick, like learning how to read at 5 years of age."

Even with the diagnosis, the Laffertys decided to not place any special restrictions in Brian's life — except for moving him, in the seventh grade, from public school into the Winston School in Del Mar, where he served on the school paper and was senior class president.

"We gave him, instead, every opportunity," explained his proud mom. "And look where he is today."
After graduating from Winston School, Lafferty attended Palomar College where he discovered the college's radio/TV program. Then a friend told him about Cal State Fullerton and its radio-TV-film program. He transferred in spring 2007 and lives on campus during the school year. He hopes to graduate in 2009.

Q. What's your favorite class at Cal State Fullerton?

A. Television drama and screenwriting. During Communications Week last year, I listened to a presentation by TV writer/producer Stephen Cannell. I was able to talk to him afterward and decided that I wanted to write screenplays. I signed up for the TV drama course and did well.

Q. How did you find out about the "Voices of Autism" book?

A. I was taking a world cinema class from Dr. Gloria Monte (assistant professor of radio-TV-film). She knew I was autistic and told me about the publication. She set up a meeting for me with one of the publishing reps at LaChance Publishing, who asked me to write about how it feels to be autistic.

Q. How was that?

A. The hardest part was how to start. For assistance, I talked to one of my other professors, Bob Engels, and he helped me. I feel that my work was satisfactory. Some people think I have downplayed my success. It's hard to describe my experience because I have never experienced having something published other than in my high school newspaper before.

Q. What do you think about autism?

A. Autism has gotten a lot of negative publicity. Some view it as some sort of a curse, but I don't feel that it is. I have taken what other people see as a disadvantage and turned it into a positive. Parents who have children with autism should teach their children to see it as an advantage and, then, they'll go far.

There is a great ignorance today concerning the content of sin. The apostle Paul was quite plain as to the “full content of sin!” Including its application to us who believe and to those who do not believe.

The axiom of sin is that it brings death, always! This spiritual law of sin and death has never changed. However, there is victory to be found from sin and death, which is its result! This is cause for great rejoicing! But first let us understand what sin is and is not.

It is no more or no less than a violation of God’s full law! It is not to be added to or diminished from this Biblical dimension as is often done by so many. This desire and teaching by so many that every thing over and above God’s law is sin (if they chose to label it such) is nothing less than their attempt to make every one a sinner even after regeneration!

They do this to justify their “sinning saint doctrine,” which is designed by the devil himself to keep you a “slave of sin.” But the result of following that teaching is being shut out of the kingdom of God and His Christ who will not allow any sinner in! (Mat. 7:23)

However, all are found to be under sin that have not found the Victory Paul mentions above! If the “law of sin is death,” which is defeat, then “the law of the Spirit of life” (Rms. 8:2) is the Victory! But how does that law transfer to me? By “obeying Jesus’ words!”

Jn. 14:23 Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him.”

Some one will protest and say, “but we can’t do it!” No, the flesh can’t do it is true! But the spirit born of the Spirit can (Jn. 3:6)! Now, having been so born, “we must walk in newness of life” and walk in the Spirit we were born in.

Is it still the flesh only? Then you will continue to sin! But if born to the Spirit, you put to death “the deeds of the flesh” you will live and be granted eternal life! This is the VICTORY.

David has been taking occupational therapy now for a couple of months , Doesn't sound like much but it has improved his fine motor skills so much he is now able t o put his pants all by himself . so many other things are still needed but I'm sure he will see improvent soon . What Is Occupational Therapy and Who Might Need It?

Occupational therapy — a treatment that focuses on helping people achieve independence in all areas of their lives — can offer kids with various needs positive, fun activities to improve their cognitive, physical, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults; children, after all, do not have occupations. But a child's main job is playing and learning, and an occupational therapist can evaluate a child's skills for play activities, school performance, and activities of daily living and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group.

"God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. " John 3:16 .

I have learned in my personal walk with the Lord that if I have LOVE I have it all . And all things are possible because of LOVE . And who is love ?. The Lord . So if the walls are falling apart for you at this moment allow the healing of the word LOVE enter in your heart and you will see what a difference it will make in your life .

Make today the day you feel BLAMELESS of stress , anxiety, hate , anger, suffering of any kind . Maybe you are having a difficulty with your children , with your co-worker , your neighbor , your family member , etc. Whatever the case may be I'm here to tell you today that there is a choice you can make . You can chose to have Blame a the end of this day or you can be BLAMELESS starting today .

Proverbs 23:7 says that “As a man thinks in his heart, so is
he.”

Walking in faith , Walking in the word . Too many times we tell ourselves this is the way to be and too many times we tell others this is the way they should be . Once you have accepted the Lord as your Saviour it isn't very hard to walk in Faith to walk in the Word .
Thanks giving is what builds your faith . Give Him thanks for the things he is giving you weather you see them or not .
When you start to do that you confidence goes high your happiness grows and your anxiety of all those things go down .
Many of us go to Sunday school every Sunday morning and we listen to the word and we cry cause the word is so powerful and we promise that this time we will practice what we have heard , But then we wipe our tears and we move on the rest of the day the rest of the week just like nothing happened .
Give up your rights my friends , I have to let you know by my own personal experience , and I'm not claiming to be perfect , But when ever I have let go of , Problems, Difficulties , Fights, disagreements , Hatred , anger etc . Letting go by prayer and fasting my request is heard and is answered .
Letting go of your rights is simple . Stop wondering why me or what about me . Leave it to the Lord , Our God has a perfect memory he never forgets . Any good thing or any bad thing people have done to you . Allow the peace of God to come in to your life . Allow the Lord to bring peace in to your life . Allow the holy spirit to work in you .
The result of you letting go of your rights and of you allowing the Lord to take control of your life , Surpasses the knowledge of understanding our perfect God . How do you know yo have come that feeling of surpassing understanding ?. Is when someone hurts you so bad and you forgive them and you are sitting there wondering how did you ever forgave them .

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any

God , what or who is this being you might ask your self

. Is he or it real ?. Does he really exist you might ask your self . Well according to the Merriam Webster dictionary

the word GOD means:
the supreme or ultimate reality: as a : the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe..

Wow I wonder if Webster believes in God . First of if there is a meaning for such a word GOD then it must exist. That we came from this big bang we have been taught in our school system . Just this month we celebrated the 4th of July . One of my favorite holidays may I add . I believe it must have been exciting the day these 3 man decided to write the declaration of independence . I guess you are wondering why do I bring this up. Well the reason being is that in the declaration of independence we find certain interesting quotes John Hancock wrote on that day .

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

From the beginning of time we have known of the existence of a Creator indeed there is a God .Not only do we need to have complete faith in spirit but we must also have complete confidence in our approach to all we do for all we do we are capable of doing through Him .

There is a great story in the bible of when Jesus is crucified and he appears to a few of his disciples and they in turn tell Thomas about having seen Jesus . But Thomas says to them unless I see him unless I feel the holes in his hands I will not believe . Jesus appears to Thomas and says to him these words .

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

These words are also for you Friend who is reading this at this moment . We are so blessed to have not seen our Creator yet we believe .

Just like in the big bang THEORY it all started with Formless empty masses I can imagine that . One thing that scientist have mentioned in many documentaries I have seen is that our earth in being maintained by a powerful and unexplainable higher power. The fine tuning of our cosmos is amazing and inexplicable in the scientist point of view . Consider for instance the precise setting of four fundamental physical forces: electromagnetism , gravity, strong nuclear force, and weak nuclear force . These forces affect every object in the universe . They are set and balanced so precisely that even slight changes can render the universe lifeless.
Long before Sir Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity, the Bible referred to such fixed rules or laws. JOB was asked in JOB 38:33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?

Who determined its measurements?
Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?

I’m not a science expert . I won’t pretend to be one but I know the basics of it . Like that Oxygen atoms make up 63 percent of the weight of living organisms on earth. Another ideal feature is the shape of earth's orbit. If the orbit were more elliptic, we would suffer unbearable extremes of temperature. Instead, the earth has a nearly circular orbit. Of course, the situation would change if a giant planet like Jupiter were to pass nearby. In recent years scientists have uncovered evidence that some stars have large Jupiter like planets orbiting very close to them. Many of these Jupiter like planets have eccentric orbits. Any earthlike planets in such systems would be in trouble.

In his book A Guided Tour of the Living Cell, Nobel Prize-winning scientist Christian de Duve admits:

"If you equate the probability of the birth of a bacterial cell to that of the chance assembly of its component atoms, even eternity will not suffice to produce one for you."

Wow was that a scientist admitting to the wonders of the Lord ?. I believe so .Scientists have described the human brain as the most complicated physical structure in this universe. How could it have developed by chance ?. It certainly has not been .

Remember the beginning of things ?. Well it was God who was with Christ who was his Son the Word . It is very simple . John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Having said that we go into the purpose of God creating us . It is a simple a reason to be fruitful and be happy together . Making it easier for you to understand I say to you that the Gospel is all about LOVE and compassion for others . Mark 12:31 Love your neighbor as you would love yourself

Jesus spoke in parables most of the time so that it would be easier for the people to understand him. He is our Vine we are the branches we should remain close to him so that we can grow fruit that is firm and peachy . Meaning if we are close to him we will have a good life .

Born again?. Yes meaning we will learn the truth and the truth will set us free . How you might ask . In a way that is unbelievable . When you allow our Lord to come into your heart and make you a new person . How you might ask again . A new person in him I mean , Like you will now respect the meaning of Love your neighbor as yourself .

Love that is all the Word teaches :

The Word of God is an ever - present reality to me. I rest assured goodness and joy are with me through every day of life. I share of my truth with everyone I touch in a way , and I am ever replenished in love .Because Christ Lives in me now.

A warrior for my 3 kids

After his diagnosis of AUTISM I would kneel down and pray together with my husband hand and hand together we would ask the Lord my son could speak .

From the day of his diagnosis i made it my task , that my son would at least know what his name is . DAVID !!

I gave him ABA for 6 months none stopped learned by me and some training , Never a day dull or a none busy night . Our goal was that my son could only learn who he was .

When he said his name DAVID!!!! WOW !!!! the most amazing night , I cheered and called my husband and his sisters and made a huge party out of this moment . He was never again called anything else but DAVID . he now knew who he was .

I then would kneel down at the foot of his bed and ask the Lord if my son could just learn his shapes , then his colors , his numbers . If he could only learn how to write his name .

So his special education teacher said no he can't . YEAH RIGHT !!!! I said to her . You are mistaken he can and he will !!!!

I prayed for it and after 2 months of ABA he did it !! His therapist was soooooo EXCITED we praised the Lord and then my son .

Then God Proved he can be in regular ed with some therapy still but in general ed . Something his special ed teacher said he couldn't and wouldn't do . YEAH RIGHT !!! I remember thinking to myself . I guess she doesn't know ho my father is . LOL !!!

I have been asking my mountain to be moved since march 2007 and it is moving for sure . If only you can feel the same it would just bring us closer together . I have been praying for you . For your faith to grow and I know it will cause the Mountain is moving , I believe it's moving in our favor .

"Green Our Vaccines Rally"

Families from around the country joined actors Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey on June 4 for the "Green Our Vaccines Rally" in Washington DC. The rally was sponsored by Talk About Curing Autism (TACA), Generation Rescue, HEAL Foundation and Moms Against Mercury. Attendees were not protesting vaccines, rather they were asking for potentially dangerous chemicals to be removed from vaccines.

The event began with a march through the streets of the nation's capitol and concluded at a rally site in front of the Capitol Building. Following the march, a press conference was held featuring remarks from three doctors and environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as McCarthy and Carrey. Ms. McCarthy concluded her remarks by asking the rally participants to turn and hold up photographs of their children for the TV cameras set up behind them, while "Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke played in the background.
