MARRIAGE A LIFETIME cOMMITMENT

Genesis 2:24
"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

God gives grace to the humble he gives us strengh. God rushes to the person who resigns their rights for their greater good. HUMILITY before HONOR. This is indeed what we need in our relationships now a days . The statitis of young families who either live UN-happy or end up in divorce is huge . Now imagine a home where you might have one or more children with any type of disabilities .

Marriage was stablished sine the beggining of time by GOD and it is as clear as water the statement on Genesis 2:24. The problem now a days is that we don't want to move on and follow this commandment but instead we want to rebel and ignore it . Becoming one flesh with your husban is a wonderfull powerfull symbolic statement.

Ephesians 5:22-23
"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church,"

Submitting yourself to your husband ?. This is a very strong and diret statement that many young and older woman in this era of women liberation is taken in the inorret sene .This is also a quote that many man take as an eample to manipulate their wife . What does SUBMIT really mean ?. Acording to webster this means , "to defer to or consent to abide by the opinion or authority of another" . For a woman to be able to consent or abide to her husband . He (the husband) has to surrender himself as well to the will of our Lord first .

Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her"

A husband that has given his life to Christ deserves the right respet in all matters .Giving his life to Christ means just what it says . This man doesn't just say with his mouth this but lives it , by being most of all a leader in the home by Caring and nurturing the spiritual needs of his family . By being a model father and husband . Is this easy to do ?, Of Course not , this takes time and lots of prayer .

Ephesians 5;28-29
husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,

this is where the wife steps in and by being his helper . Doesn't irritate him but helps him to follow our Saviours foot steps . Humbuling ourself to our Father and following his commentments .

1 Corinthians 7:4
The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.

As a wife we struggle to fullfil the shoes of our Lord but we must rely on prayer and support from other older sisters who might be able to hand spiritual advice to help the burdend of marriage be lighter. But most of all kneel and pray to the Lord saying to Him . Please Lord make me a new person , change me Jesus .
